I have been learning all the right ways to build a website that Google can understand. Along the way I set a couple of goals.

  1. The first and foremost goal is to only use “white hat” or legal ways of increasing her visibility
  2. Get Ashley on page 1 for four target keywords
  3. Get An indented listing

Well, it looks like I met my initial goals. Now to move to some more generic keywords and see what goes from there.

What was your deadline and what the duration of this effort? Do you have any suggestions (websites, pointers, product names, etc) to help others?

I’ve found the Google Sitemap (xml-sitemap) wordpress plugin very helpful.

Also helpful is creating a webmaster account at Google and registering your sites..makes it easy to make sure they see your site, check their site for error reports on your site, and see how Google sees your site.

I think like anything, understanding the algorithms behind Google’s decision making process helped immensely.

My original goals were for 60 days to get some long tail keywords listed, however I have been more then impressed, that we have 30-40 page 1 and 2 listings for long tail, and competive keywords now.
